‘Confident’ buyer will be found for McLeish shops

Customers in the Whitehall Street shop today.

The administrator for the collapsed Dundee-based McLeish Brothers Ltd said today he is “quietly confident” they will be able to find a buyer or buyers for some of the shops which closed yesterday (writes Alan Wilson).
Ian Fraser, of Tenon Recovery, said there had already been approaches from other Dundee companies interested in taking over the local premises, less than 24 hours after he arrived on site.

Mr Fraser stressed it was too early to say how much interest there was in the business overall, but the early signs were good.

For the Whitehall Street shop it was business as usual today, with a steady stream of customers.

Meanwhile, Dundee East MP Stewart Hosie is to meet with the administrators on Friday to discuss all aspects of the sudden closure of the three shops in Dundee and the Dundee factory.
