| Police confirmed a 13-year-old boy had been arrested and charged in relation to an incident of alleged vandalism at Mr Barile’s home in Downfield.
He has been reported to the Children’s Panel.
It is understood Mr Barile and his wife Moira were at home at the time when windows were smashed.
A 16-year-old youth was also arrested and charged following an incident in which a bottle was allegedly thrown at Mr Barile’s car on December 31 in Teviotdale Avenue.
The youth was reported to the procurator fiscal in Dundee.
Police today said they were aware of ongoing problems at Mr Barile’s home.
“We’re certainly aware of ongoing problems and are giving the area due attention,” a spokeswoman said.
Mr Barile was found guilty last month of assaulting two pupils in his class at Lawside Academy.
He is appealing against his conviction, but is also to be reported to the General Teaching Council for Scotland.
This means he will almost certainly face a disciplinary hearing and could be struck off the teaching register.
Dundee City Council today refused to comment on when Mr Barile’s disciplinary hearing would take place.
Mr Barile’s sister-in-law Roselyn Curran said the couple are going through hell.
She said they were being abused in the street and their property is being vandalised on an almost daily basis.
“It’s just ridiculous. They are sitting on tenterhooks every single day and every night. They’ve just been getting bombarded.”
She added that the couple want to sell up, but the gloomy housing market isn’t helping them. |
