| Mr FitzPatrick was introduced to staff at Royal Mail’s Dundee West Delivery Office in Baird Avenue and given an insight into the work involved in sorting and delivering the mountain of cards and parcels that will pass through the city in the run-up to Christmas.
He said, “It was great to meet the hard-working Royal Mail postmen and women at Dundee West and to see at first hand how much effort they put into delivering for people at this time of year.
“Posties do such an important job at this time of year and I like to thank them in person for their efforts and wish them all the best over the busy festive period.”
Delivery Office Manager Ewan Sime said he was pleased the MSP had come along to witness the hard work that goes on behind the scenes.
He also took the opportunity to remind people of the remaining last posting dates for Christmas: December 10 for Eastern Europe, the USA, Canada and Japan; December 12 for airmail items to Western Europe; December 18 for second class mail; December 20 for first class mail; and December 23 for special delivery items.
“And, as usual, we urge customers to post early,” added Mr Sime. |
