| The promotion encourages workplaces and secondary schools across Tayside to take part in a fund-raising alternative to sending Christmas cards. Instead, participants write their messages on posters for a small donation.
Baldragon Academy distributed posters throughout all 22 registration classes and plan to arrange them in a common area for everyone to enjoy, once completed. The sixth years are taking responsibility for the campaign by promoting it through delivering presentations to other classes.
“The Pupil Support Department within Baldragon has been fortunate over the years to receive cash from Radio Tay to fund projects. We are delighted to have been chosen as the pilot school to promote the Christmas Wish Campaign and to give something back to a charity that has supported us,” said pupil support worker Yvonne Powell.
Cash for Kids co-ordinator Lynda Curran urged other schools to follow suit. “I’d like to thank Baldragon for taking part and hope other schools take their lead.”
“It’s a fun way to enjoy the Christmas season without the stress and cost of sending individual cards. Also every message benefits vulnerable children of Tay Territory.”
Posters can be requested by calling the Cash for Kids Team on 01382 200800, emailing cashforkids@radiotay.co.uk or dropping in at Tay Towers, 6 North Isla Street, Dundee.
