Pupils from Whitfield Primary School in Dundee are sending some seasonal cheer to underprivileged children in Eastern Europe this year by sending more than 100 Christmas shoeboxes.
The youngsters filled the shoeboxes with goodies such as toiletries and warm clothes before wrapping them to send to children of their own age.

The presents were sent to the Blythswood Care Shoebox Appeal, a scheme that delivers the packages to countries such as Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, Albania, Hungary, Ukraine and Moldova.

Prudence Milne, a mentor at Whitfield Primary, said the pupils had worked extremely hard.

She said, “It is Blythswood’s 40th anniversary this year and it is the school’s anniversary too so we decided to get the whole school involved. The kids have done really well and I want to thank all of the parents who have been so generous in donating the items.”
