| However, Helen McInnes from NCR refused to be drawn on whether the move to a smaller unit would ultimately mean any further job cuts at the manufacturing plant, or indeed any new jobs created.
“Dundee remains a major centre for NCR. Product testing, new-product induction manufacturing and low-volume, high-complexity manufacturing all take place within the existing plant.
“Those functions are part of a range of options being considered for the facility, depending on demands and operational needs.
“The planning process will take up to 18 months, and in terms of jobs it will depend on those demands and needs.
“It is too far ahead to make any decisions about that.” |
