A90 disruption eases, BUT . . .
Motorists commuting between Dundee and Perth breathed a sigh of relief today as the chaos caused by roadworks yesterday, eased today (writes David Clegg).
Queues several miles long built up during morning and evening rush hours in and out of the city yesterday as BEAR Scotland set up a contraflow system to allow roadworks near Longforgan to get under way.

But the works — which are scheduled to last three weeks — caused less frustration today, with motorists facing a maximum of 15-minute delays.

Tayside Police, who have urged motorists to avoid the route at peak times if possible, said they had no reports of major disruption on the road.

The £2.2 million upgrade is being carried out by Tayside Contracts on behalf of Transport Scotland and being supervised by BEAR Scotland.

However, Dundee motorists will be hit with further disruption when overnight roadworks start on Kingsway West tomorrow.

Maintenance works will be carried out on the eastbound carriageway between Coupar Angus Road and Charlotte Street.

They will take place between 7.30pm and 6.30am the following morning for two days.

For the duration of the works, traffic will be controlled by a convoy vehicle system with a speed limit in place throughout the affected part of the carriageway.

The works have been planned in consultation with Dundee City Council and Tayside Police.
