Police plea for firework witnesses
Police in Carnoustie are continuing to hunt for the person who aimed a firework at a teenage girl in the town yesterday evening (writes Andrew Jarret).
Officers are appealing for witnesses in relation to the incident, which occurred around 6pm in Dundee Street, beside the Stag Public House.

The incident involved a firework being set off in the direction of a 16-year-old girl who was walking by.

The pyrotechnic did not hit the girl, but came close enough to singe her hair.

Police believe there may be witnesses to the incident. In particular, they are looking to speak to the occupants of a dark coloured car, seen to drive off westwards at the time of the incident.

Any witnesses are asked to contact Tayside Police on 0845 600 5705.
