Meeting in bid to stop bus gripes
A Dundee councillor is to meet management at National Express on Tuesday to discuss a lack of bus services in the Menzieshill and Charleston areas of the city.
Councillor Alan Ross has been gathering complaints from disgruntled residents in the area affected by changes to bus routes for over six months, and has secured a meeting with management of National Express (the parent company of Travel Dundee) concerning the alterations.

In particular, residents are frustrated at the lack of buses into the city centre and the re-routing of services away from public buildings such as Ninewells Hospital and, in their place, routes that go through the technology park.

“People feel there’s no service,” said Councillor Ross today. “There’s a huge chunk of residents in Menzieshill and Charleston who feel they don’t have an adequate bus service, and the ones that are operational are packed full and often run late.

“I’m pleased the new directors of National Express are willing to hear our concerns and have a meeting.”

National Express director Heather McDonald, said, “When we took over as the new management team we had complaints that dated from before we came here, so we’re taking the time to ensure these issues are taken note of. Hopefully we can listen to what people are unhappy with, and we’ll see how best to match up their demands with our services.”
