Saints injury fear for opener
Steven Anderson is still rated very doubtful for St Johnstone’s league opener at home to Livingston on Saturday (writes James Masson).
The defender suffered a knee knock in the Challenge Cup loss at Ross County and, although he’ll be given every chance of making it, he looks an unlikely starter.

However, Kevin James has fully recovered from a leg injury and has trained this week without ill effects.

“Kevin’s looking OK. He’s trained without any problems,” said boss Derek McInnes.

Should Anderson fail to make it, James is his likely replacement.

However, Jody Morris, Kevin Moon and Steven Milne are out injured, while Alan Main is an injury doubt.

Saints have had Livi watched three times already so know what to expect.

“We took 12 points from Livingston last season and it would be nice to do that again,” Derek added.

“We know, however, they will be difficult opponents, so we’ll have to be at the top of our game on Saturday.”
