Euro middle man for Dee?
Being on an island in the middle of the Mediterranean is not stopping Dundee boss Alex Rae’s efforts to plug the gaps in his midfield caused by summer departures (writes Tom Duthie).
The second full day of the Dark Blues’ training camp in Malta brought the news that tomorrow will see a vastly-experienced midfielder fly out to join them for a trial.

With last season’s stalwarts Scott Robertson and Kevin McDonald both now at new clubs, the squad is light in that area.

The man joining up this weekend is not being named, but just the fact Dundee are going to the trouble of getting him to Malta is an indication of how serious their interest is.

“The new guy should be here tomorrow. He’s an Eastern European with Champions League experience and his background means he is certainly worth looking at,” said Alex.

For those already working under the Maltese sun, things continue to go smoothly and the manager remains pleased with the quality of work his men are putting in.
