Charity cycling challenge

A cycling enthusiast is preparing to embark on a 214-mile round trip from Dundee to Aviemore to raise money for RNLI.
David Marr, who works at the BT Centre in Bell Street, will leave from his work place at 6am tomorrow alongwith colleague Robert Smith.

The duo hope to arrive in Aviemore in the afternoon and stay overnight before cycling back to Dundee on Saturday.

David participates in sponsored cycles regularly and said he has probably raised around £36,000 over the years for charities.

This time he has decided to donate the money he makes to the RNLI lifeboat in Montrose, where some of his family do volunteer work.

David told the Tele, “I have trained hard but it will be a challenge.”
