Man charged with murder bid
A 48-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in Dundee’s Mid Craigie last night (writes Graeme Strachan).
A 31-year-old man suffered a slight injury when a car mounted the pavement and struck him while he was walking in Bellisle Drive.

Inquiries have established there were a number of pedestrians and residents nearby. Police appealed to anyone who was in the area around 7.25pm to come forward.

A spokesman for Tayside Police said today a man was in custody and had been charged. He is expected to appear before a sheriff tomorrow.

There have been a number of incidents of anti-social behaviour in Mid Craigie and allegations of rivalries between groups. Three men were jailed at the High Court in Edinburgh in April following an outbreak of trouble there in August during which an unknown, masked man fired a shotgun.
