| One Dundee woman, who lives in the Whorterbank area, said children in the evening had even witnessed addicts shooting up in a playpark.
“Honest and decent folk are subject to harassment for money and are intimidated by addicts’ presence in their stairwells,” said the woman.
“Why should they have to put up with this?”
The woman said that politicians who have been playing down the extent of the drug problem in Dundee were misleading the public.
“Where are these councillors getting their information or are they conveniently turning a blind eye?” she asked.
“Only last week, in the beautiful sunshine, mums with their kids were subjected to an addict injecting in our recently modernised play park.
“Why should our kids be subject to this kind of behaviour and decent folk scared to go out of their homes?
“The relevant agencies should get their acts together and help stamp out this problem.
“They need to get help for these people and give the decent people a chance to enjoy our area,” she added. |
