Pensioner robbed in street
A 68-year-old man was attacked and robbed in Broughty Ferry Road, Dundee, last night.
Police are trying to find out if a man seen walking hand-in-hand with a woman moments before the assault was the culprit, or just an innocent passer-by.

The victim was at the junction with St Matthews Lane about 10.35pm when he spotted the couple walking towards him.

He described the man as being in his mid to late 20s, 5ft 5, stocky, with red curly hair. He was wearing a brown jumper, blue jeans and white trainers.

The woman he was with is said to be about 26, of medium build, with dark brown, shoulder-length curly hair.

The man noticed this couple walk into South Baffin Street, but, moments later, as he was at the junction with Market Street, he was grabbed from behind by a man, who stole his wallet and ran off.

The 68-year-old was shaken, but was not injured.

Witnesses have told police the attacker was aged 18 to 22, 5ft 5, thin and pale and was wearing a brown hooded top, blue jeans and white trainers. He ran off along a path leading to Eden Street.

Police said they were keeping an open mind as to whether he was the man seen with the woman earlier.

They are keen to trace the couple and anyone else who was in the area at the time.

Anyone with information is asked to call 0845 600 5705, or speak to any officer.
