Surgery for McMenamin
Dundee’s Colin McMenamin is set to go under the knife next week (writes Graeme Finnan).
However, before Dark Blues fans start sweating, the striker should be fit in time to renew his partnership with Mickael Antoine-Curier when the season starts.

McMenamin will have surgery to cure a groin problem, but is expected to be fit enough to join in when pre-season training begins.

Paul Ritchie, meanwhile, has emerged as a candidate for the vacant manager’s post at Berwick Rangers.

And, although Ritchie is still under contract as a coach at Dens, the club are unlikely to block any switch should he decide to move on.

“Paul is under contract to us and we are currently looking into how we might best use him on the youth development front,” said chief executive Dave MacKinnon.

“At the same time, however, we wouldn’t stand in the way of him progressing his career.”

Dens midfielder Kevin McDonald has again been named in Billy Stark’s Scotland Under-21 squad for the challenge match against Norway at Rugby Park, Kilmarnock, on Tuesday, May 20.

Dundee United keeper Euan McLean, who is free to find a new club when his contract expires in the summer, is also in the squad.
