BACK IN HOSPITAL – BUT ANDY OK
St Johnstone striker Andy Jackson, recently hospitalised for a week due to a stomach problem, was back in hospital over the weekend (writes James Masson).
The medics wanted to check him over just to make sure he was all right and the Republic of Ireland forward is back out again after getting the OK.

Saints team boss Derek McInnes is happy with the progress Andy has made on the field this season, having netted 19 league and cup strikes in his first full season as a First Division player.

And he’s also pleased with the form shown by another young forward, Steven Doris.

The Perth boy was on loan with Montrose in the season just ended and Saints have re-signed him on a year deal.

“We had Steven watched while he was at Montrose and he’s done well,” said Derek.

“He’ll do his pre-season with us and then we’ll decide whether or not to loan him out once more. A few clubs have asked about him.”

Meanwhile, Saints have dismissed reports linking them with a move for former player Ryan Stevenson, now with Ayr United. Speculation is rife that Stevenson waas on his way back, but Saints say that’s not the case.
