| Spokesman Jim Lee said, “We are making amendments to a number of services as a result of Dundee City Council’s recent £100,000 subsidy withdrawal for the operation of early morning and late night services.
“There will be some journeys lost in the early mornings and late evenings, but we’re also starting to serve new areas, especially around Ninewells Hospital and in the Perth Road area.”
The changes are:
1A/1B/1C — Services will be combined into a single timetable, which will give an increased 15 minute frequency on the Provost Road section of the route, which also links closely with the 19 service.
3/4/4A/4B — In the evenings, the 1845 4A from Camperdown becomes 4B, and will serve the Perth Road area, including the Whitehall Theatre.
9/10/11/12 — The 0530 9A from Barnhill to the city centre and 9 and 10 journeys from Ninewells Hospital at 2305 and 2308 are being withdrawn. All other services will now benefit from the new link road from the Technology Park through to Ninewells, giving faster, more reliable journey times.
9X/10X — The 9x/10x service will have a frequency of 30 minutes (previously 20 minutes) and will be extended to the Perth Road and Hawkhill areas.
14 — From Monday to Friday, the services from Dobbies at 0735 and 0805, will depart 10 minutes earlier. This will help improve arrival times at the Technology Park. The 14 will also utilise the new link road between the Technology Park and Ninewells.
15/17 — The 0500 which operated from Monday to Saturday from Whitfield to the city centre will be withdrawn. From Monday to Saturday, the 15 will be extended within the city centre to include bus stops in Crichton Street. This will improve the frequency of services from the city centre to Whitfield to every 10 minutes. On Sundays there will be an improved frequency between Whitfield and Ninewells Hospital.
18/19 — The 18/19 will be slightly amended to serve the Gilburn Road area and the new St Paul’s secondary school. The frequency will be improved from 12 to 10 minutes, and the 19 will operate closely with services 1C and 21 to improve journey times in the Provost Road and Arklay Street areas.
22 — On Sundays, the frequency during the day will be increased from 20 to 15 minutes.
32/33 — Amended to serve the new Pensions Office on Jack Martin Way hourly, instead of just in the peak period.
36/37 — Route alteration will see the Kingsway Retail Park served, along with Camperdown Park, Dunsinane Industrial Estate and Ardler village.
51 — The 1100 and 2130 journeys from the city centre to Liff and the 1129 and 2159 return journeys are withdrawn.
