Baby hurt by falling glass
A year-old baby girl was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee with head injuries today after being struck when glass from a shattered window pane crashed on to a city centre pavement.
It is thought the glass fell from the communal stairwell on the top floor of a three-storey property in Reform Street near Boots Corner between 11.30am and noon.

It is understood the baby has been admitted to Ninewells suffering from a suspected fractured skull.

An investigation was immediately launched and police and Health & Safety officials were at the scene.

A Tayside Police spokesperson said, “The girl’s injuries are being described as serious, but not life threatening.”
