Tay toll refunds: deadline Monday
Motorists have until Monday to claim refunds on prepaid vouchers for the scrapped tolls on the Tay Road Bridge.
Bridge Manager John Crerar told the Tele around £11,000 of prepaid tolls have now been refunded since the charges were scrapped.

Anyone still needing a refund is being urged to come forward before the March 31 deadline.

Before the tolls were removed on February 11, bridge users could buy books of pre-paid vouchers — but as no record was kept of sales it is not clear how many remain in circulation.

Meanwhile, Mr Crerar said peak times on the bridge did appear to have reduced slightly in timespan since the tolls were removed.

He said although the tollbooths had now been removed, ongoing roadworks meant it was difficult to gauge the impact this was having on traffic flow.

“The traffic is behaving almost exactly the same as it was before. There are still overall peak periods with traffic moving from Fife to Dundee in the morning and returning in the evening.

“Perhaps the peak times have reduced somewhat as the traffic that arrives early gets across quite promptly.

“But it is too early to tell what the final results will be.”
