WIN OPTION ONLY CHOICE
With St Johnstone lying 13 points behind First Division leaders Hamilton, the Perth side must win the meeting of the two at McDiarmid Park tomorrow to keep their promotion hopes alive (writes James Masson).
Defeat away to QOS last Saturday was a bitter pill for Saints to swallow, especially as Hamilton won 3-0 at home to Dunfermline to open up that 13-point gap.

Saints, however, bounced back on Tuesday with a 1-0 Scottish Cup success over Ross County at Dingwall.

“I was very pleased with our response in that game. Every player worked hard to give us victory,” said Saints’ team boss Derek McInnes.

As he looked ahead to the Hamilton game, Derek continued, “We’re under pressure because we have to win. There is not a lot of room for error in this match.”

Andy Lawrie is still out with a neck injury, though Martin Hardie is back training after a groin problem. Tomorrow’s game will come too soon for him, though.

Rocco Quinn is back in the Perth team’s squad after missing the Ross County Scottish Cup win due to being ineligible.

The midfielder spent the first half of the season on loan at McDiarmid Park from Celtic, but was recalled by the Parkhead club at the turn of the year.

However, Saints managed to get him back last Friday afternoon for a second loan spell. He made an appearance from the substitutes’ bench against QOS and is in the frame to start tomorrow’s game.
