| Watkins was so pleased with his accommodation in the Strathearn area that he wrote a glowing message accompanied by a picture of Oor Wullie on his bucket in the guest book.
“It wis a rare holiday! Wait till I tell Fat Bob an Soapy Soutar a’ aboot it!” says the message, dated 1959.
To be sold at Lindsay Burns and Co Ltd in Perth next Tuesday, the guest book has a pre-sale estimate of £700 to £1000.
Also in the sale is a profile of Oor Wullie in an autograph book, which the artist drew for a young Fife girl in 1953. It is expected to fetch £300 plus. |
