Striking back at disease

Ninewells patient Cara Tavendale (13) discovers this Stormtrooper really does have a heart.

An Imperial Stormtrooper invaded Dundee’s Ninewells Hospital today as the Empire helped a local children’s charity strike back at illness and injury affecting the area’s youngsters.
The surprise visit, organised by Fairy Box Trustee Rosie Butler, was aimed at boosting the spirits of youngsters at Ninewells, while raising awareness of the Galaxy of Stars Children’s Party in January, hosted by Apex Hotel City Quay and Spa, with support from children’s charity Dreamz4u.

The advanced guard of Darth Vader’s Imperial Stormtroopers 501st Legion was provided courtesy of the United Kingdom Garrison, who will attend the party, alongside television presenter and comedian Des Clarke.

“Characters like Darth Vader and his Imperial Stormtroopers are just as popular with today’s children as they were then.

“This is just a flavour how the Fairy Box Galaxy of Stars Children’s Party event is shaping up,” said Rosie.
