| An unrepentant Mr Ross insisted he had exposed the truth, and criticised the way in which the weeks-long investigation had been carried out.
Flanked by wife Linda, suspended depute head at the school, Mr Ross faced the media outside Tayside House after a 40-minute meeting with the panel.
Asked about the findings, he said, “My initial reaction is that I am disappointed.
“I thought they would have gone a step further and probed a bit deeper, and there are quite a few inaccuracies.
“The term exaggerated was used frequently about me, but I never exaggerated anything, and if they had interviewed the people I spoke to they would have got the same answers about violence in the school.
“I have raised these issues with the panel. What I gather from what they said is that the issues I raised would be raised by the council and looked into, so some good will come out of it.
“It wasn’t all for nothing.”
Mr Ross pointed to reports today which suggested UK schools were more violent than their US counterparts, and among the worst in the world.
“How can they say Sidlaw View is a good school and everything is hunky dory?” he continued. “The reality is that it is far from it.
“I raised quite a few issues about the report which I didn’t agree with.
“I don’t like being made out to be a liar, and I have been made out to be a liar.
“I have just brought out the truth, and the truth will prevail.
“It’s not over as far as I am concerned, not until my wife is back at work.”
Mrs Ross remains suspended from her post, and it’s understood there will be an education committee hearing around the middle of next month.
Indicating t they were seeking to have that brought forward, Mr Ross also stated she would be prepared to go back to the school at the centre of the allegations.
“The next step is to have my wife vindicated,” he told the Tele.
“We have an affidavit which states she has not spoken to the media. I am have been speaking for her, and for the staff, the parents and the children. School staff all over the UK are not allowed to speak out for fear of suspension. They are literally being gagged.” |
