| The European Championship qualifier goes ahead at East End Park, Dunfermline, and, after missing out in the 3-2 defeat in Finland on Saturday, Alex is keen to see “Dicker” get the opportunity to add to his cap tally.
However, even if the young full-back has to be content with a place on the sidelines, the Dens gaffer is delighted to see the club represented at national level.
“It’s a great honour for Paul and also for the club. I’m sure the experience will do him the world of good,” said Alex.
Meanwhile, the Dark Blues are trying to find out the extent of Craig Sives’ injury.
The Hearts defender, currently on loan at Dens, has been out for two months due to a hernia problem and Dundee are becoming increasingly concerned about when the 21-year-old will be fit for action.
“Craig had a double hernia op. during the summer and the point at which he joined us was when he was expected to start training again,” added Alex.
“But that’s not how things worked out and now we are attempting to clarify his situation with Hearts, where he returned for treatment.”
A Swiss trialist continues to be put through his paces at Dens and Alex will make a decision on the defender by the end of the week. |
