Around 60 people, including Mrs McGregor’s five children, 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, attended a party held at daughter Moira McLean’s house in Broughty Ferry yesterday.

Originally from Errol, Mrs McGregor was married to a Perthshire farmer, the late Atholl McGregor of Carmichael’s Farm, Longforgan, and moved to Broughty Ferry’s Orchar Nursing Home in 2005, where she continues to reside today.

She said the secret of a long life was having a big family, being happy and sharing her life’s stories with friends and family.
