Councillor’s plea for help for Hilltown
Dundee Coldside councillor Jimmy Black said today he wanted to meet the Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill following a spate of serious crimes in the Hilltown area.
Councillor Black said, “I want to tell him that the Hilltown needs his intervention. It needs more police and community safety wardens.

“There’s been a spate of particularly violent crime recently. There have been deaths, alleged fire raising and, most recently, a slashing at a local cash machine.

“We want people to be confident in the area. We as a council are trying to regenerate the Hilltown and make it the bustling lively place it should be, but we won’t succeed if people are afraid to walk the streets.”
