Hardie hails Saints support
Martin Hardie, the man whose goal kept St Johnstone in the hunt for an SPL place last night, thanked the club’s fans for their support at Broadwood (writes James Masson).
The Perth faithful occupied half the main Clyde stand and raised the roof when he shot home the only goal in the 74th minute.

“That’s the best away support we’ve had in the league this year and all credit to our fans, they backed us to the hilt,” he said. “We felt them urging us on throughout the game.

“Coming to football isn’t cheap and they had to fork out for recent trips to Gretna in the league and Celtic at Hampden in the Scottish Cup semi.

“It was a great turnout and they certainly made themselves heard.”

Now Saints turn their attention to Saturday’s visit of QOS.

Simon Mensing and Filipe Morais are back from suspension, but the ban Allan McManus incurred keeps him out for the season.

A number of players played against Clyde although they weren’t fully fit. Among those was Kevin James, who had running repairs at the start of the second half and he’s a major doubt for Queens’ visit.
