Donna’s weight-loss triumph

A Dundee woman is nearly half the woman she used to be after losing six stones in just 10 months.
Donna Reid (38), from Mid Craigie, is now 10 stones and has come down five dress sizes following a complete change to her lifestyle.

Donna, who once found walking too demanding, joined Dundee Healthy Living Initiative’s Hilltown walking group and sought advice from community worker Alison Christie.

Within months she had changed her diet and incorporated regular exercise into her daily routine.

Today she was giving a talk to members of the DHLI Hilltown weight management group at Coldside Library.

She said, “The changes I have made have been relatively easy. Once I made up my mind to do something I just went for it.

“I cut down on my portion sizes and concentrated on eating five portions of fruit and vegetables a day.

“I also included daily exercise into my routine. Dundee Healthy Living Initiative have so many classes and activities on offer, I was spoiled for choice.

“I have reduced my blood pressure and I have loads more confidence. I really enjoy shopping for clothes now, previously it was nightmare, but I have so much to choose from now.”
