‘Very confident’ of Minister’s support
Chairman of the NCR Rapid Response Group, the Rev Erik Cramb, is “very confident” of securing an initial £1,150,000 from the Deputy First Minister when he meets with him on Wednesday.
Mr Cramb will be presenting detailed proposals and action plans formulated by the response group to Nicol Stephen and is looking to get the initial payment as soon as possible.

The latest response group meeting took place today and the chairman said members mainly focused on their agenda for meeting with the Minister on Wednesday.

“It was a very constructive meeting, basically to cross the Ts and dot the Is, and get everything ready for Wednesday,” he said.

“A lot of good work has already been completed by the response group and I will be presenting a 28-page document, which focuses on a series of proposals and action plans covering both the short term and the longer term.

“There will be direct support for individual employees of NCR facing redundancy to help find new job opportunities and retraining.

“We are also looking to provide support for local companies supplying NCR, as well as developing infrastructure projects to boost the local economy.

“I am looking forward to meeting the Minister and I am confident we will get confirmation of Scottish Executive support for our proposals.”
