Hooked on crochet project

When Shirley Kilcullen suggested to colleagues they might like to help children with diabetes, they were hooked.
Shirley, an artist with Classic Stitches magazine in Dundee, got them to crochet scarves, which will be sold in aid of the Paediatric Diabetes Education Fund based at Ninewells Hospital.

Shirley’s son Stephen (4) benefits from the work of the fund.

Her colleagues, along with those from People’s Friend, My Weekly and I’m Pregnant magazines, raised over £400 last year with a similar venture, and hope to do better.

Said Shirley, “I’m grateful to everyone who donated wool, and to the girls for their efforts.”
