Harris set for Dingwall return
Dundee injury-victim Ross Harris looks set to be available for the trip to face Ross County on Saturday week (writes Graeme Finnan).
The midfielder was stretchered off against St Johnstone amid fears he had suffered a leg break.

However, despite a nasty ankle gash which required stitches, an X-ray revealed nothing worse than bruising and Harris is poised for a return at Dingwall.

“Although there is still a bit of bruising around the ankle, we’re confident Ross will be available for next week’s game,” said Dens assistant boss Dave Farrell today.

Whether of not Derek Lyle will be included for the trip to Victoria Park remains to be seen.

The striker was sent off against Saints and faces an automatic one-match ban unless his appeal, lodged earlier this week at the SFA, is successful.

Meanwhile, African trialist Issac Mopi was continuing to be monitored by the Dens backroom staff today.

The Cameroon striker, who has spent much of his time playing in Malta, seems set to be offered the chance to return again next week.

“It’s very difficult to assess a player in such a short space of time,” said Dave.

“We’ll probably get him back in for training next week and see if we can get a game fixed up for him.”

Meanwhile, Dave was heading for Forthbank Stadium, Stirling, tonight in the hope of seeing Dens youngsters Scott Murray and Kevin McDonald getting a run for the Scotland U/19 side, who meet Bosnia-Herzegovina (KO 7.30) in a European Championship qualifying game.

“I’m not privy to Archie’s (Knox) team, but, hopefully, our lads will get a game. Whatever happens, it’s great experience for them to be involved at this level,” added Dave

Dundee United pair Greg Cameron and David Goodwillie are also in the squad.

The Scots meet Estonia at the Falkirk Stadium on Saturday (KO 12.30) before winding up their programme with a game against Germany, again at the Falkirk Stadium, on Tuesday (KO 7.30).
