Spice for life

Hot stuff: The staff at Spice get set for their charity effort.

A Broughty Ferry curry house is hoping to raise thousands of pounds for the cancer unit at Ninewells Hospital today.
Spice is donating the proceeds from the sale of buffet meals to the hospital — and expects to raise around £7000.

Owner Zeeshan Hameed said, “The event will be going right though the day, from 12 until 12.

“We have done this sort of thing before to raise money for victims of the Asian tsunami and earthquake, when we raised about £5000, but never for a local charity.

“One of our regular customers died of cancer so we thought it would be good to raise money for that.

“We’ve had around 200 bookings but we hope to get people in off the street as well,” he added.
