Losing it
n Michelle’s grateful to Steve when he persuades Liz to give her back her job at the pub. She plucks up the courage to ask him out on a date but is stopped in her tracks when she hears him talking about her to his mum.

Fiz and Kirk are in love again after he wooed her with his romantic love poem. But Fiz is furious when Rita tells her the lyrics have been pinched from a well-known song.

Jamie and Violet tease Frankie about her date with handsome stranger Liam. Liam tells Michelle that he fancies the woman who runs the cafe but is left gobsmacked when she tells him the owner is a transsexual. When Frankie turns up at the pub he’s distinctly cool with her, leaving her confused.

Elsewhere, Ashley is growing increasingly concerned about how Claire is coping.

She tells him she’s taking the baby to go and visit her mum but then asks Hayley to babysit.

Claire heads to a cafe and starts feeding coins into a slot machine.

Ashley discovers she’s left the baby behind and alarm bells start ringing. She then discovers a mark on the baby’s arm and accuses Hayley of harming him.

Les and Cilla are struggling to pay the bills but when Chesney hands them some of his own cash, revealing he got it by selling his old toys online, Cilla has an idea.

What’s bubbling up in Soapbox

n It’s the day of the surprise wedding and Peggy is busy making the final preparations.

But, as her contractions get stronger, Honey is rushed to hospital. She soon decides against a natural birth and locks herself in the bathroom until the midwife agrees to give her some pain relief.

Billy is getting more and more anxious and, when he eventually gets the first glimpse of his daughter, it all proves too much for him.

Honey and Billy are proud new parents but receive some devastating news about their baby’s health — she has Down’s syndrome.

They tell their visitors that Janet is being kept in for observation because she is premature. However, Pat isn’t convinced and she confronts Billy.

Meanwhile, Garry is left fuming when SJ and Minty turn up at the wedding late and tipsy.

It gets worse when the guests head back to the Vic for the reception and SJ’s curiosity gets the better of her as she wonders what Phil is wearing under his kilt.

Minty decides that Garry has gone too far this time. He packs his bags and announces he is moving out of the flat.

Phil decides to buy the video shop as an investment for Ben. He calls in solicitor Stella Crawford to do the work. And Jack and Peggy rekindle their romance.

Up in flames
n Sophie doesn’t realise her every move is being watched. Nicole answers a knock at the door, but it bursts open and she’s shoved against the wall . . . by Sam. He holds her hostage and becomes even more unstable as he rants about Sophie and Russ. Sophie is shocked to get a phonecall from Sam and turns up to see him standing at the door of The Dog holding a can of petrol. He holds up a lighter and threatens to set the whole place on fire if anyone moves. But as everyone tries to escape, Sam drops the lighter and the pub bursts into flames. Upstairs Steph desperately tries to rouse Jake, and Frankie and Jack return to a scene of devastation. But who will survive the fire?

Clare fills the Loft’s bottles with dodgy vodka, leaving Zak in a bad way after being poisoned. Clare then has her work cut out getting back into Max’s good books.

Mel can’t believe what Warren and Louise are up to on the CCTV. She spies on Clare as she leaves Evissa after her rendezvous with Warren.

Amy seems preoccupied but doesn’t get a chance to talk when Michaela introduces her to Sasha.

Jessica is jealous that Olivia is getting on well with the new students.

Families rally round
n Guilt-ridden Shona’s conscience is troubling her after kissing Raymond, especially when Roisin takes out her wedding album. However, when Roisin confides her marriage is definitely over, Shona begins to feel a bit better — and takes her relationship with Raymond a step further.

Raymond and Eileen receive some terrible news, and their respective families rally round to help. Shona can’t fight her desire to be close to Raymond in his time of need, but it is Roisin who goes to comfort him.

Gina, struggling to fit in at Liz’s house, works late to avoid going home. But little does she realise the trouble she’s in because Liz has cooked a meal and Archie is on the warpath. Later, Archie realises he has been overly harsh on Gina and organises a romantic night in for the two of them, ordering Liz away. But when Liz returns home early, all hell breaks loose between mother and son.

And when Ruth tells Scott he will need to move out of the flat, Eddie suggests that he and Scott move in together.

Deadly duo

Sadie and Cain hatch a plan to kidnap one of the Kings. They reason that Matthew and Carl would be more likely to pay a ransom so Tom would be the best target. They agree it’s risky but will a prize of £2.5 million each sway them to go ahead with their audacious plot?

Del’s jealousy grows when she sees Paddy comforting Toni after she was stood up by Cain. She jumps to the wrong conclusions and confronts Toni, with disastrous consequences. Donna visits Toni in hospital. She’s unnerved when Toni makes it clear how angry she is with Del and talks about pressing charges.

Daz continues to be haunted by Andy’s infidelity to Katie. A worried Diane and Jack insist he tell them what’s troubling him but will he confess to what he saw?

Elsewhere, Lisa is devastated when Scott tells her there’s no longer work for her at the garage. She accuses Debbie of stealing her job. There is hope when Val offers Lisa a job at the factory but Zak still feels guilty about not being able to support the family.

Kelly tries to spend some time alone with Rodney but when he fails to pay her attention she begins to question what comes first, her or his business?

And Marlon learns a harsh lesson when he spends the day handcuffed to Diane after a night of drunken debauchery.
