| A green-fingered gardening enthusiast has taken top prize in Dundee City Council’s annual garden competition.
David M. Smith (58) won the Residential Garden for Council House Tenants category for his efforts at his home on in Blackwood Court in Glamis Road.
Mr Smith’s garden is decorated with a display of 30 hanging baskets and 10 tubs of plants.
It’s not the first time Mr Smith has enjoyed success in the competition, having won the front garden category for the past two years.
He said he was very excited to have finally taken the top award and today collected his prize of a gold medal certificate, Sunday lunch for two in the Riverview Restaurant at the Hilton Hotel, a garden voucher for £15 and complimentary tickets to the Dundee Flower and Food Festival.
Leisure and arts services convener Councillor Charles Farquhar presented Mr Smith with his prize and said, “The annual garden competition aims to encourage the community to take a pride and interest in the city by making their premises attractive.
