| The central defender tabled a transfer request which has subsequently been rejected by the Highland outfit.
And director of football at the Caledonian Stadium, Graham Bennett, remains adamant Dods will see out the remainder of his contract, despite the fact United have been chasing the 30-year-old throughout the summer.
“We have had a fax from Darren’s agent saying that he wants a move,” said Bennet.
“We have responded to say that the request is turned down and we expect the player to honour his contract with the club this season. There is no further debate on this issue.”
United boss Craig Brewster is a big admirer of Dods and his Caley team-mates Ian Black and David Proctor.
However, with Caley appearing to dig their heels in, it’s difficult to see where any movement can take place.
Today, Craig admitted there had been no movement on the transfer front, but declared himself “delighted” with yesterday’s reserve win over Rangers at Tannadice.
Goals by David Robertson and Lee Miller gave the Tangerines a 2-1 win over an experienced Ibrox XI. which included new signing Filip Sebo and former Dundee man Nacho Novo, who scored the Gers goal.
“It was a great performance and I thought all the boys did well,” said Craig. |
