Saints close in on keeper
St Johnstone hope to finally tie up a deal for Dunfermline goalkeeper Bryn Halliwell today (writes James Masson).
This morning, only some paperwork needed to be done at the Dunfermline end.

Saints tried to get the keeper this time last year, but he joined the East End Park outfit from Clyde.

Halliwell may not be the only new face at McDiarmid Park this week.

A player with a fair amount of Premierleague experience, and who can play in a number of positions, is interesting the Perth men and contact has been made.

Meanwhile, Saints player/boss Owen Coyle is pleased with the way last season’s First Division top scorer, Jason Scotland, is showing up in training.

“Jason is looking terrific,” said Owen. “He’s working really hard in training and I really am excited about him with regard to the coming season.”
