Pupils throw their coins in “the Dighty”

Our picture shows Helen and Brian Bell with the children of Primary 2a about to deposit their coins in “the Dighty”.

Dundee’s Longhaugh Primary School pupils were emptying their cash into the Dighty Burn today — to help the environment.
Youngsters have created a version of the local water in their assembly hall and they put cash into it as the final part of an environmental fundraiser.

Acting head teacher Jacquelyn Farquharson explained, “The children chose to support the Dighty Environmental Group at the start of the session, and have been bringing in any loose change for it throughout the year.

“Today they brought in some more loose change and put it in our burn. We were pleased Helen Bell and Brian Bell from the Dighty Environmental Group were here to oversee it.”
