Brew begins move for Caley trio
Dundee United boss Craig Brewster’s much-anticipated summer campaign to lure players away from former club Inverness Caley Thistle has started with an approach for midfielder David Proctor (writes Tom Duthie).
The Highland club have confirmed the Tangerines have been in touch about the 22-year-old and indicated, if the player wants to move, they will be willing to open negotiations.

Proctor still has a year to run on his contract and that means United would have to splash out a transfer fee to get him.

Craig has also been strongly linked with moves for Caley centre-half Darren Dods and midfielder Ian Black.

However, while Black is “flattered” at the Tangerines’ interest — he admits he is “very happy” at Caley.

The Scotland Future international has a year left of his contract and has been offered an extension.

The 21-year-old said, “I’m not saying I would leave, but I’m not saying I wouldn’t either.

“Craig Brewster knows what I can do, so it’s nice that he’s keen. But I’m enjoying my football at Inverness and will sit down with the club shortly to discuss their contract offer.”
