The company, based on East Dock Street, has formed strong links with the cancer service and the money presented today was raised at a charity fun day organised specifically for the Maggie’s Centre.

It took place on April 9 and involved a car boot sale, treasure hunt and face painting.

Kangaroo managing director Chris Stevens said, “We chose Maggie’s as our charity because we felt it was very important to give something back to the community and there is hardly anyone who has not been affected by cancer in one way or another.

“We decided to organise the fun day as part of our support for this cause and we are looking to make this a regular event.”
