| He was at Sensation to see new developments at the centre and to see how it is operating with the help of its board of local schoolchildren.
“I am determined that Scotland is seen at home and abroad as a science nation, and in Dundee both the science centre and the two universities are setting the standard for the rest of Scotland to follow,” Mr McConnell said.
International researchers were being attracted to the city, giving it a reputation as an international centre of science.
He continued, “I am impressed by the enthusiasm of the youngsters who are helping to run the centre here.
“They are also gaining valuable experience and skills for years to come and this model is, I understand, being copied by other science centres in Scotland.
“I am delighted that Dundee is leading the way for others to follow.” |
