Pars boss backs fans
Much has been said of the low crowd which will attend tonight’s Dunfermline-Livingston CIS Cup semi-final at Easter Road (writes James Masson).
But Dunfermline team boss Jim Leishman believes the Pars fans who will be there will give his team a very vociferous backing.

“Our supporters will give us all the vocal backing they can,” said Jim. “I’m looking forward to the game. It’s a great chance for us to get to the final. There’s a good vibe about the town and we’re ready for the kick-off.”

But the Pars have injury and illness concerns.

Although skipper Scott Thomson has recovered from a foot knock, he isn’t quite 100%, but he is likely to start. Lee Makel and Andy Tod are doubts, Makel with a knee injury and Tod with a hamstring problem.

Gary Mason has recovered from a bug and Mark Burchill, who has been troubled by a hamstring injury, should be OK.

And Noel Hunt, troubled by a groin strain, will be fit enough to take his place.

However, Derek Young is out following hernia surgery and Bryn Halliwell is doubtful due to picking up a bug.
