Dundee pupils turn ‘green’

Bruce Johnston, of Alastair Johnston Motors, helps pupils Morgan Gallacher and Abbie Clarkson recycle some paper, watched by teachers and members of the school’s eco-committee.

Pupils at Dundee’s Craigiebarns Primary School have been doing all they can to make sure their school is as eco-friendly as possible.
And now the school’s eco-committee has received a cheque for £219 to buy four recycling bins for their Save-a-Cup scheme.

The school has aluminium can, plastic bottle and paper recycling bins and decided to recycle the plastic cups too.

Administration officer Gloria Murray explained the scheme needed special collecting bins.

A plea to local businesses resulted in a donation from Alastair Johnston Motors in Broughty Ferry.
