| The area around Dundee’s City Churches took on a new look today as five penguin sculptures in bronze were placed in their new permanent home.
The placing of the sculptures is part of the public art programme of the Dundee Partnership, whose chairperson, city council administration leader Councillor Jill Shimi, and Scottish Enterprise Tayside area regeneration manager Archie Jamieson were on hand to meet artist Angela Hunter as she guided installation of the new artworks.
The penguins are being arranged in a scenario that makes them appear to be heading towards Union Street to Discovery.
Further sculptures of animals will be installed over the next year, including a monkey on the information boards in High Street, as part of a project to bring a series of fun and make the city centre area even more attractive. |
