| Dundee railway station is to get new CCTV cameras on each platform as part of the franchise agreement between the Scottish Executive and the railway provider.
First Scotrail told Dundee-based MSP Marlyn Glen of the upgrade when she asked about any additional improvements it will carry out at Tay Bridge station in the next three years.
Ms Glen wrote to the rail provider to ask how Dundee’s Tay Bridge station fitted into the franchise agreement reached between First Scotrail and the Scottish Executive over a programme of station improvements costing more than £10 million.
“I asked, in addition, about any further planned changes in facilities for disabled passengers at the station under the programme of improvements,” she said.
First Scotrail managing director Mary Dickson said a number of measures are already in place — but improvements to seating and customer help points were also planned.
She said, “Our investment plan will deliver CCTV and Customer Help Points on each platform at Dundee in the year 2007/8. This plan will also improve the signage at the station as well.” |
