The Beautiful Game just got a whole lot rosier for fans of the Old Firm.
In an innovative tie up, a Dundee firm has launched websites with both Celtic and Rangers so followers of the country’s two biggest clubs really can say it with flowers.

Scotia Flowers’ agreement to manage sales of fresh flowers and horticultural products for the Ibrox and Parkhead teams puts the Glasgow sides in a league of their own as the first outfits to offer club bouquets on-line, and the City of Discovery company is confident it can nurture the idea into a blooming success.

The websites, www.celticfcflowersdirect.net and www.rangersflowers.co.uk kicked off this week and were offically launched today at Scotia Flowers’ Annfield Row premises where company director Shaun McLean revealed the company hope the football-themed arrangements will score with the fans.

Celtic supporters can choose from The Huddle, Paradise and No.7, while the Rangers followers can order The Argyle, True Blue or The 5 Star, with a range of other bouquets available for the less die-hard fan.

“We are very excited by this agreement with the Old Firm teams,” said Mr McLean. “We have a great product range which we are sure will appeal to everyone, regardless of the team they support.”

Celtic FC admitted the idea grew on them after the unusual initial approach from the Dundee firm.

A Parkhead spokesman said, “At first we were slightly bemused when we were approached about the product but we soon realised that in actual fact it was the ideal gift. When you consider that we have 50,000 fans at every home game, the majority of whom are men, it’s the perfect place to promote fresh flowers for that personal Celtic gift.”

Paul Geddes, Rangers’ head of licensing said, “We are delighted to team up with Scotia Flowers to offer this fantastic service to our fans. Wherever they are in the UK, and whatever the occasion, Rangers supporters will find the perfect flowers.”
