Police fund boost for charities

From left — Mr Vine, Pauline Gorrie (Cruse), Louise Hall (Independent Advocacy Perth), Lorri Millichamp (Young Carers), Helen Gilmartin (Carolina House), Sergeant George Louden (Police Benevolent Fund chairman) and Malcolm Gibbs ( fund secretary).

Local charities each received a welcome boost of £750 today, courtesy of Tayside Police Benevolent Fund.
Representatives from the charities Carolina House Trust, Independent Advocacy Perth and Kinross, Dundee branch of Cruse Bereavement Care, SHIP (Support Help and Integration in Perth), and Perth and Kinross Princess Royal Trust, visited police headquarters in Dundee to be presented with cheques from Chief Constable John Vine.

Mr Vine said, “This is one of my more pleasant tasks as Chief Constable to carry out.

“The cheques I am handing over today are from the Police Benevolent Fund, who always try to disperse the money around local charities.”
