| Staff at the university facility are still trying to establish what was stolen in the incident, discovered at around 6.30 this morning.
However, it’s known that a large number of doors on the upper floors of the building were smashed and offices entered.
A Tayside Police spokesman said, “Scenes of crimes officers are at the scene and are carrying out a detailed examination.
“Both uniform and detective officers are carrying out inquiries, which are at an early stage.
“We would appeal for anyone who was in the area overnight or early this morning, or who has any information that could assist inquiries, to get in touch with us.”
Efforts to establish what might have been taken have been hampered by the mess left in the aftermath of the break-in.
A Dundee University spokesman confirmed this afternoon, “A number of offices have been broken into and glass doors smashed. No lab research or clinical services have been affected.”
NHS Tayside confirmed there had been no impact on their services as a result of the crime and patients were being seen as normal.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Tayside Police on Dundee 223200 or speak to any officer. |
