“SATISFYING”
Dundee manager Alan Kernaghan described last night’s win over English Northern League side Billingham Synthonia as “extremely satisfying” (writes John Brown).
Speaking from the team hotel this morning as they prepared to head back to Tayside, he said, “It was a pretty youthful team we put out and the way we went about things was extremely satisfying.”

The Dark Blues won 2-1, coming back from a goal behind with counters by Andy Ferguson and Scott Robertson.

“I felt we were on top of the game throughout and played really well,” he continued.

“We dominated the game and created a lot of chances.

“Goalkeeper Derek Soutar came through the game OK and there are now no problems with him.

“I think, though, he might need another 90 minutes or so under his belt before he can be considered for league duty.”

Trialist Sean Hogan played once again and a decision will be taken on him in the next 24 hours.

“Billy (Kirkwood) and I will have a talk about Sean on the way back up the road,” said the manager.

Dundee’s starting line-up last night was — Soutar; Robertson, Mann, McCluskey, Dixon, K. McDonald, Keane, Gates, Hogan, Lynch, Ferguson.

At Tannadice, all the DUNDEE UNITED players trained today with the exception of Barry Robson.

The former Inverness Caley Thistle man is still carrying an injury, and manager Gordon Chisholm has left him out of the team work-outs for the next few days.

“Playing three games in a week recently has seen his injury flare up again, so I’ve handed him over to the physios for the next week,” said Gordon.

“He’ll do non-weight-bearing exercises in the pool in the hope of clearing up his ankle injury.”

The manager intimated he will be at Broadwood tomorrow evening to watch Tannadice star Mark Wilson play for Scotland U/21 against their counterparts from Belarus.

This is the latest in a long line of representative honours the youngster has won for Scotland.

FEES AGREED
St Johnstone and Clyde agreed a fee for the transfer of Simon Mensing before the tribunal met to decide the matter in Glasgow today. And it was the same outcome in the Greg Henslee case with Montrose agreeing a fee with Arbroath before proceedings started (writes James Masson).
The fees in both cases were not disclosed by the clubs.

Meanwhile, Saints pair John Henry and Neil Janczyk have come through the 4-0 away Reserve League Cup win over Morton without any adverse reaction in their comeback from injury.
