| Ex-Arbroath FC player Scott Easton fled Biloxi with his pregnant girlfriend as Katrina bore down on the seaboard communities just over a week ago, heading for the sanctuary of his partner’s parents’ home in Jackson hundreds of miles away.
Fearing the scene which might greet him on his return to the area, Scott (29) has found home and possessions virtually intact despite many areas in close proximity being devastated by Katrina’s ferocious battering.
Now in daily contact with his family in Letham, Scott has told his mother Anne how the bustling resort town has taken on an unsettling new aura.
”He said the place has the most eerie feeling about it and described it as being like somewhere after a war,” said Anne.
”Scott went back down just to see how things were and their house is still standing, everything seems fine,” she added.
Scott had been due to start a new role as spa manager at the Hard Rock Cafe complex in Biloxi, but having returned to Jackson, now hopes to make progress in the next 10 days or so over getting the personal situation of himself and partner, Athena, sorted out. |
